About The Event
Ahhhhhh… pleasure! It feels soooo good when we are in our pleasure. Pleasure… as in the scent of a freshly mown lawn, connection with others, luxuriating in breathtaking sex, or bringing our gifts to the world. Yet pleasure has another purpose. Pleasure can also be your guide to your truest calling. It’s a power source. If you allow it and cultivate it, it can take you to places that all the drive, logic and planning in the world can’t take you. Your profound pleasure can lead you to your truth and most deeply held desires. It's the internal feedback system that lets you know you’re going in the right direction. Desire is the spark that ignites wanting and longing, creates an appetite. “Try this,” it says. “Go over there,” it says. “Long for this,” it says. And when we allow ourselves to explore what desire calls for and when we find pleasure in it, that’s our feedback that we’re in a good place. It lets us know we’re exactly where we should be. Pleasure signals, “Yes, more of this!” When we live a life guided by pleasure, we live a life filled with joy and it can be magical, effortless. Pleasure connects us to our life force. Surely, you know those times when it felt like everything fell into place for the highest good and you didn’t “do” anything. And it all begins by making decisions coming from pleasure rather than what you’re “supposed” to be doing.
Women have never been taught to ensure our joy; we were taught to ensure the joy of others and to take care of friends, husbands, partners, bosses and others before us. We have been taught that pleasure is dangerous, frivolous, unproductive, selfish. And so, we use our will to drive ourselves to do the “right” things—to exhaustion. No wonder we don’t feel pleasure in our lives. We don’t feel joy. No wonder we’re not getting the life we want. But what if we could cultivate our intuitive knowing? What if we could allow ourselves to be gently guided and led by pleasure to what is true for us? And what if, guided by pleasure, we begin to live a life of joy? And from that place of joy, we bring our gifts to the world powerfully, our relationships are positively impacted, and our family and friends learn from us that there is another way and another approach to life?
This workshop is for you if…
You want more joy in your life
You’re tired of endless striving and pushing
You’re too busy to “indulge” in pleasure and you put it at the bottom of your to-do list
You fear that if you were to follow the path of pleasure, your life might fall apart
You’ve silenced the voice that tells you what guides you to your deepest pleasure
Pleasure is sensed in the body and to feel it, we need to be connected with our own bodies. It’s imperative that we are exquisitely in tune with what’s felt in our bodies and with our divine intuition. We need to uncover the unconscious messages we tell ourselves to deny our own pleasure. We need to explore the different ways—known and unknown—we experience pleasure. We need to understand what our deepest desires are so that they may be birthed. And we need the support of other women, sharing our truth, in a safe and confidential environment. We will explore all of these in this experiential workshop. Mindful, creative explorations and activities will be used, some of which are below. Because this is experiential, we work with what wants to happen in the room and there is freedom to use any of these.
